Dalgleish Clothworks is made up of the creative minds of our family. Dawn and Don are in the studio selecting fabrics to create truly unique tuffets and quilts. Dawn does all the stitching, either on a sewing or long arm machine to bring the ideas to life. Don has taken the role of assembling all the tuffets, insuring the durability and the finishing details of each one. Kimberly and Andrew are our IT team bringing all the beautiful pictures and shopping accessibility to the public.
Cloth is an amazing material to work with. It can be turned into nearly anything we can imagine. We use nothing but the highest quality 100% cotton fabrics which are in inspiration in themselves. The colors and patterns just beg to be turned into a tuffet or a quilt for a little one.
Our tuffets are made from 64 individual strips of fabric which are stitched together to form the upholstery of the tuffet. As the strips come together, the tuffet begins to take on a personality of its own. The button is never chosen until the piecing is complete because the tuffet will always let us know which fabric is best. The cover is placed over a foam and plywood base. The finishing of the underside receives just as much attention to detail as the top with carefully placed decorative nail heads completing the look. We use wooden feet on our tuffets which compliment the colors and style of the top. All this comes together to create a one of a kind piece of furniture which is a work of art and a focal point for any room in your home or office.
Our quilts are also made from 100% cotton for softness and durability. The fabrics are chosen to accentuate the pattern and become a treasured heirloom for your family. They are made to be loved and used and improve with each washing and drying. Initially, my hope is for your little one to lay on the quilt and as they grow, learn to roll over and crawl on it. As they grow older, they can snuggle under it as they sleep. Nothing would make me happier than to know that a Dalgleish Clothworks quilt is one your child can never be without.
